Note: sth means something while sb means somebody. One’s is replaced with a possessive pronoun such as your, my, his, her, etc.

2. Last but not least

3. No laughing matter

-This outbreak of flu is no laughing matter.

-गंभीर विषय, सामान्य बात नहीं

4. Lay down the law

-We will not allow n outsider come into this office and star laying down the law.

-प्रमाणिक रूप से कहना

-She can’t just come into this office and start laying down the law.

5. Turn over a leaf

-Since his release from the jail, he’s turned over a new leaf and has become a socially responsible person.

6. To say the least

-When somebody found her lost gold ring, she was delighted, to say the least.

-बहुत कम बोल पाना

-I was surprised, to say the least.

7. Leeway to make up

-We have a lot of leeway to make up if we are to finish this job on time.

-बाथ-पैर मारना, काम जो भी किया जाना है

-He’s got a lot of leeway to make up in his studies after his illness.
