Note: sth means something while sb means somebody. One’s is replaced with a possessive pronoun such as your, my, his, her, etc.
1. an eye-opener
– a startling or shocking revealation

2. an eager beaver
-sb who works very hard and is eager to do sth
-मेहनती और काम के लिए उत्सुक
Eric was being an eager beaver and left work late.
3. be all ears
-eager to hear sth, listening attentively
-ध्यान लगाकर सुनना
The children were all ears when Granny told them stories
4. have sb’s ears
– obtain sb’s attention, especially favourable attention
-किसी का ध्यान हासिल करना
He has been one of Italy’s most influential figures, a man who is said to have had the ear of every Italian prime minister.
5. have one’s ear to the ground
-watch and listen carefully to wat is happening around you so that you know about everything
-हर गतिविधि पर नज़र रखना
David had his ear to the ground when it came to news about the latest and best technology to buy.
6. easy come, easy go
-readily won and readily lost
-जितनी आसानी से मिलना, उतनी आसानी से खो जाना
She never took things very seriously; ‘easy come, easy go’ was her motto.”
7. go easy on sb
– treat sb in a gentle way,and not punish them severely
-विनम्रता से व्यव्हार करना और कड़ी सज़ा न देना
The doctor told me to go easy on the spicy food for a while.
