Meaning: not formal

Meaning: a simple traditional style that is always fashionable
Example: Old clothes in classic style appeal to me because they never go out of fashion.
04. designer label
Meaning: a well-known company that makes (often expensive) clothing
Example: She’ll only wear clothes with a designer label.
05. dressed to kill
Meaning: wearing clothes that attract admirers
Example: Khushboo is always dressed to kill in parties.
06. to dress for the occasion
Meaning: to wear clothes suitable for a particular event
Example: If I’m going out to a party, I’m going to dress for the occasion.
Meaning: in fashion
Example: She seems envious of her sister’s new fashionable dress.
08. fashion house
Meaning: a company that sells (usually expensive) new styles in clothes
Example: My father wants me to open a fashion house this year.
09. fashion icon
Meaning: a person who is famous for their sense of fashion
Example: I don’t think youths in my colony would call me a fashion icon.
10. fashion show
Meaning: an event where modals show off the latest in fashion designs
Example: Yesterday she did a fashion show for Zara here in New Delhi.
11. to get dressed up
Meaning: to put on nice clothes,often to go out somewhere special
Example: Getting dressed up for special occasions doesn’t appeal to me a t all.
12. to go out of fashion
Meaning: to not be in fashion any more
Example: My mother and sisters always wear clothes in classic style that never go out of fashion.
Meaning: clothes that are passed down from older brothers or sisters to their younger siblings
Example: My younger brothers never hated having to wear my hand-me-downs.
14. to have an eye for (fashion)
Meaning: to be a good judge of
Example: He always has an eye for what suits me the most.
15. to have a sense of style
Meaning: the ability to wear clothes that look stylish
Example: This young boy has a sense of style that is very much his own.
16. the height of fashion
Meaning: very fashionable
Example: I bought this jacket when it was in the height of fashion.
17. to keep up with the latest fashions
Meaning: to wear the latest fashions
Example: Neha and Anjali don’t seem too concerned about keeping up with the latest fashion.
18. too look good in
Meaning: to wear something that suits you
Example: You both look good in Shirvani.
19. to mix and match
Meaning: to wear different styles or items of clothing that aren’t part of a set outfit
Example: She knows well how to mix and match different items of clothing that go well together.
Meaning: something that is highly fashionable and therefore in demand
Example: My siblings are keen on wearing must-have clothes.
21. off the peg
Meaning: clothing that is ready made
Example: She has got many attractive clothes, and most of them are off the peg.
22. old fashioned
Meaning: not in fashion any more
Example: No one has ever seen her wearing old fashioned clothes
23. on the catwalk
Meaning: the stage that modals walk along to show off the latest fashions
Example: The clothes that models use on the catwalk don’t always reflect what normal people wear.
24. a slave to fashion
Meaning: someone who always feel the need to wear the latest fashions
Example:Since you are often tight on a budget, you don’t need to be a slave to fashion.
25. smart clothes
Meaning: the kind of clothes worn for a formal event
Example: He tends to wear smart clothes at his workplace.
26. to suit someone
Meaning: to look good on someone
Meaning: Formal attire suits you the most.
27. to take pride in one's appearance
Meaning: to pay attention to how someone looks
Example: Ryan and Harris are always well-dressed and take a lot of pride in their appearance.
Meaning: something that doesn’t go out of fashion
Example: They often wear clothes that are timeless.
29. vintage clothes
Meaning: clothes from an earlier period
Example: We’ve got some really nice shops in Sharjah that sell vintage clothes at affordable price.
Meaning: to be dressed attractively
Example: Everyone in my family likes to be well-dressed.
